Welcome to SeaDragon and Yellowhouse –The Gallery in Duck!

We have re-opened for 2020 as of May 12, with changes in occupancy limits, customer flow within the shops, and modified hours. Staff will be wearing face coverings, and customers must also wear face coverings while in the shop. We love you enough to take every precaution to keep you and those you love safe, and we appreciate all our patrons who do the same for us.

The gallery will be open Mon – Sat 10-5, and closed on Sundays for deep cleaning and sanitizing between weekly visitor turnover.

Both SeaDragon and Yellowhouse showcase American fine craft, much of it from the region, but we do represent artisans from all over the country. Local and American artisans make by hand nearly everything in our gallery. We say some version of these words over and over to our first-time visitors. Most are astonished to find a venue where the work is hand-created and they marvel at the variety we showcase. We select each item in our collection with an emphasis on design and craftsmanship.

In 2016, founder Paula Myatt sold SeaDragon Gallery to Eve Turek, who along with her husband Pete also owns Yellowhouse Gallery. Located in Nags Head since 1969, Yellowhouse joined SeaDragon in Duck in 2018. The two shops are now connected with a custom built archway not to be missed! Eve brings an extensive knowledge of local art to SeaDragon, as well as a lifelong love of fine American craft. She is an owner/artist, and brings her internationally award-winning photography to the combined gallery offerings.

Eve Turek’s photograph Meditation was chosen by the Professional Photographers of America as one of only three images to represent the United States in the Landscape Category in the first World Photographic Cup. An international panel of 15 judges chose Meditation as the Gold Medal winner. Eve’s photograph was the United States’ only gold medal, and helped the US secure the overall World Photographic Cup.
