Welcome to SeaDragon and Yellowhouse — In the Duck Waterfront Shops
SeaDragon and Yellowhouse showcase local art and photography alongside American fine craft, much of it from the region, and we also represent a few artisans from all over the country; we also have three fair trade lines. “Local and American artisans make by hand nearly everything in our gallery.” We say some version of these words over and over to our first-time visitors. Most are astonished to find a venue where the work is hand-created and they marvel at the variety we showcase. We select each item in our collection with an emphasis on design, fine craftsmanship, and beauty.
In 2016, founder Paula Myatt sold SeaDragon Gallery to Eve Turek, who also owned Yellowhouse Gallery. Located in Nags Head since 1969, Yellowhouse joined SeaDragon in Duck in 2018. The two shops are now connected with a custom built archway not to be missed! Eve is the Artist in Residence at Yellowhouse, and while she does not work seven days a week, she continues to work weekly shifts while still finding time to create new photographs for the gallery and write. Her 4-part book, Seeking Grace, Finding Refuge: Stories from Alligator River published by Outer Banks Press will be available in the gallery this summer!

Eve Turek’s photograph Meditation was chosen by the Professional Photographers of America as one of only three images to represent the United States in the Landscape Category in the first World Photographic Cup. An international panel of 15 judges chose Meditation as the Gold Medal winner. Eve’s photograph was the United States’ only gold medal, and helped the US secure the overall World Photographic Cup.
